A Vacation To Remember

You sick pig

I was fourteen and my family and I were on a cruise ship to the Bahamas. Oh my goodness, was it beautiful. I had never seen a place like it. There were crystal clear waters, dolphins jumping with delight and all the fun you could imagine.

On our way back from the Bahamas, I was just enjoying my view one night from one of the balconies on the ship. I was then approached by an older gentleman that worked there. He asked me if I wanted a better view. I was naive and said yes. I didn’t know that he was taking me to a restricted area.

When we got there, we were gazing at the ocean when he came up and tried to kiss me. I immediately was uncomfortable and made an excuse that my family needed me back. He said he would meet me there at 9 PM the next night. I ran off.

I instantly told my mom, who went to the police on the ship. We gave them our report. They then called the manager of the cleaning crew staff. The manager had told the police that no one was working on that side of the ship that night. They tipped him off. When 9 PM rolled around the next day, he never showed up. He was still free to hurt other kids.

I wish the incident never happened at all, but I can only imagine what would have happened if I stayed. I wish I could say that this was the only creepy thing that happened to me in my life, but that isn’t true. I remained naive in a lot of ways as a child.
