Visual Thinking a new old trend

Today we are used to using text based communication and documentation, and that’s not the essential problem. The problem is that we have now grown so fond of text that we are loving to use it as the only output (and input). We are for example so used to creating power points with plenty of text and tons of bullet points just to make sure everything we want to say is on the presentation. But how do those bullet points help your listeners to remember what you said?

Why is Visual Thinking relevant for your business?

Just think about it, every time we want to describe something intricate we are using pictures. In school when learning about physics, chemistry or biology there were pictures. They don’t describe the heart with a text, they have a picture with a heart and arrows pointing out each part.

When we were doing maths we were drawing the graphs and charts instead of only writing the equations. Without thinking about it we use pictures and visual thinking in our everyday life to make things easier to understand.

Why do we spend hours to create policy documents or power points only with bullet points if our colleagues only will remember about 20% of what we wrote?

To put it simply, because that’s what we are used to. Heavy text documents will always be needed, but you can make it easier to understand by complementing them with pictures.

A live scriber can create a visual summary of what is said during the meeting. Both time and resources will be saved. First of all the participants / employees will most likely remember a lot more from the meeting, hence you won’t need as many (or hopefully any) follow up meetings only repeating what’s been said at the first meeting, and second of all you and the participants will have the ability to go back to the visual summary and revise what’s been said without needing to spend time to read through the document.

Is Live Scribing / Graphic recording a trend?

When is your next meeting or conference? Think of how wonderful it would be to have a professional Live Scriber supporting.
