Irma was no match for Aquarius

If you did not know already Florida International University has a underwater research lab off of Key Largo which they took over from the National Oceanic in 2013. 60 feet deep in the ocean, this underwater lab gives the chance to researchers to study the ocean with an amazing view. Studying coral reefs, climate change, and aquatic animals, this lab takes about $1.2–3 million to run it.

Hurricane Irma paid the lab an unwanted visit. The storm dragged the lab about 14 miles away from its originally spot to Lignum Vitae channel. Still intact the lab suffered minor damages that can cost up to 500,000 to repair. Everyone is helping raise money to soon get Aquarius up and running once again!
